ABOUT THE PROJECT

When Julie approached me, she was ready to make a shift in her business. She wanted to transition from over 40 years of tailoring and bridal to education and textile conservation.

We worked together to hone in on who she wanted to connect to, so that we could build visuals that would resonate with her target audience, exude Julie’s expertise, and capture her fun spirit.

The Inspiration

Inspired by a warm sunny day, Julie’s brand is laid-back and evokes a feeling of quiet confidence. The focus is not necessarily on the services and products, but rather on the carefully crafted compositions that highlight the textures and all the moments in-between.

Key Words: warm, inviting, laid-back. textured

The Details

We pulled details in from things in Julie’s sewing room to really make it feel like you’re actually in or part of her sewing room. A few obvious ones include the “sewing mat” grid as a background, hand drawn illustrations of sewing tools, wavy section borders that represent fabric ripples, and the custom underline in the menu options that looks like thread.

The Result

Julie’s website and brand is built for growth. As she adapts and makes changes to her educational programs, she has the flexibility to innovate and keep her business running.
