Gabriella was starting a new copyediting and creative writing business called Mossy Frog. She needed an online platform to be able to showcase her short stories and blog posts while also advertising her services.
Gabriella knew that she wanted the vibe to reflect her personality–laid back, a little quirky, and deeply authentic. The Mossy Frog logo is situated between a series of multi-colored rectangles, symbolizing her brand on a shelf as if to say, "I'll help you get your work on the shelf" AND "Pick this story off the shelf", playing into each side of her brand.
While simple at first glance, the logo is based on Gabriella's love for books and her goal to work with novelists on their works. The blue and green rectangles are representations of books on a shelf, with Mossy Frog at the center, aiding and helping to read between the lines. The O's are slightly rotated to be off center to represent her quirkiness. The fonts used aren't 100% perfect, showcasing her laid-back nature, and look as though they were type-set like newspapers of old.
Inspiration for the Mossy Frog icon suite came from Gabriella's childhood. One of her favorite books to read was Frog and Toad, so we decided to lean into the story book nature of the story and pull out hand-drawn characters to help tell her own story.
Gabriella now has a digital space to share her creative works and market her services to the general public that truly represents her and her goals for growth in the future.
